How much education is required to become a Doctor of Chiropractic?
- Doctors of Chiropractic are well educated and highly trained professionals. After completing pre-med undergraduate studies, chiropractors must complete four years of education at a government accredited chiropractic college. Furthermore, chiropractors must pass Parts 1-4 and physiotherapy chiropractic national and state board exams. Once licensed, chiropractors must complete at least 15 continuing education hours each year. Chiropractic college is similar to medical school except that chiropractic classes focus on anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition, the chiropractic adjustment and physiotherapy whereas a medical student will spend more time on pathology and pharmacology.
